Folks, I'm sorta giving away my age here..lol...but when I first starting riding..Triumph Motorcycles were unreliable.....a definitive UNDERSTATEMENT. They had Lucas Electrics which went bad all the time and were "fondly" known as the "Prince Of Darkness":....lol. My, how things have changed. I have been the proud owner of several Rocket 3's...2005 and up. What a machine in every sense of the word. Below please find links to some of the Triumph motorcycles I have had the privilege of owning.
The triumph motorcycles that were popular in the late 60's and early 70's were the 650 Bonnevilles and Tigers.
Then came the addition of the Triumph Triples....which were quick...handled good as all Triumphs did (and still do) but they still suffered the same bugaboos of unreliability, once again primarily due to the problems with the electrical systems.

Wanted to make a comment on the 2008 Triumph Rocket 3 Tourer that I owned. A great bike...but I'm disappointed that Triumph "detuned" the bike for "touring purposes". HEY TRIUMPH....if I want to go slower I can. I don't need you mandating speed and acceleration for me. Still loved the bike though....I must admit.

I am a middle aged guy and my initial reaction I had when I used to think about Triumph Motorcycles was "Prince Of Darkness" aka Lucas Electronics...lol. Triumphs always handled good but were always unreliable. Well, now I'm the proud owner of a 2008 Triumph Rocket 3 Tourer and have nothing but praise for this motorcycle. What do you think??...Tell us your story of ownership...your relationship with your Triumph Motorcycle. We would love to hear it.
