Well, we all have to start motorcycling on our first bike. And most if not all of my first bikes were Suzuki Motorcycles. Totally Reliable, Steadfast, And True. When I was about 14, my first trail bike was a TS90 and a TC90. Only difference was that the TC90 had a high/low split transmission which was nice. I moved up to a TS185, and then to several Suzuki TS250's which by the way was called the Savage at the time.

My first real streetbike was a Suzuki 500 Titan, a marvelous 2 stroke twin cylinder bike that was pretty darn fast for its day and did everything well. And actually, in really good condition, they have some intrinsic collector value. I actually went cross country TWICE on this bike with no complaints other than a horrible sunburn and a worn out butt....lol.

I then proceeded to own 3 Suzuki 750GT "WaterBuffalo" bikes. The engine on this bike was amazing...a 3 cylinder-2 stroke bike that once again proved to be totally reliable. However, this bike also proved to be very dangerous. It had a horrible steering problem for the lack of other terminology that if you were traveling at speed (anything over 80mph), it would sometimes develop a totally frightening speed wobble and if you were lucky you got out of it without crashing, and if you weren't, you crashed and hopefully like me.....survived. My one and only motorcycle accident was due to this manufacturer's defect. And since I owned 3 of them, I can tell you that all 3 had the same defect (problem). Whew...glad to get that off of my chest.

So needless to say, I have had a long and overall happy relationship with Suzuki motorcycles. I guess my only complaint (other than the 750GT Water Buffalo Issue) is that for whatever reason, they didn't really commit to the full touring market. Perhaps they didn't (maybe wisely) want to compete with the Honda Goldwing. Don't know the reason but I do know that when Suzuki puts their mind and heart to it, they put out a great product.

Here's my 1977 Suzuki TS250 Street Legal Enduro. I had several of these and probably had my most fun with these bikes. Very versatile and very competent within its intended use. Great bikes. Check link below.

My "Museum Piece" 1981 Suzuki SP500. My first lesson on an engine with real compression. Almost killed myself starting this thing until I learned about the compression release. A Great Bike.
