So you have decided to sell your Used Honda Motorcycle. You now feel like you are in the motorcycle sales business. Sometimes getting rid of your main "steed" is not an easy decision. Whether it is a tough decision or something you are doing without trepidation, there is a right strategy in motorcycle sales to help you get the best results. Let hondamotorcycles-usedmotorycles guide you through the process.
First off, correct motorcycle sales strategies are the same whether you are selling a used honda motorcycle or any other brand for that matter. The same principles apply. OK?
This is a picture of a glorious 1989 Honda Pacific Coast that I had the privilege of owning. This is one of the motorcycles that I have sold in the past. Sold it mid of 2005. What a great bike!!
First of all, let us first identify what a buyer initially looks at and what often puts the seal of approval or the kiss of death on a potential sale. Folks, they look at appearance. Sorry! It’s a vain world....like it or not. When a guy first looks at a woman, he can say how he is looking at her character or her personality.....LOL. Unless she carries her character or personality on her butt or her chest, this is Baloney...lol. I used this word as this is a family oriented site. Same for a woman sizing up a guy for the first time. Yup, it works both ways folks. Let’s get serious boys and girls. People’s first judgement(s) are often (incorrectly) made based on that first look-see. The first impression is made on looks.
So, this tells you that your used motorcycle for sale has to be as clean and good looking as possible. Am I saying that you must repaint your machine to make a sale? Absolutely not!! But it must be clean, free of grease and grime, and look as good as elbow grease will make it look. If it’s a high $$ machine, then perhaps a paint job or a new seat, etc is in order. If the bike looks terrible, it is a reflection on the care the motorcycle probably received (or didn’t receive). So, making it look good is priority #1.
If the bike needs a tune up, get the darn thing tuned up. Don’t tell your prospective buyer that it will run good once they tune it up. This cheapskate attitude of trying to save a few bucks will either cost you much more than the price of the tune up or it will cost you the sale completely. All because you wanted to save a few bucks. Penny wise but pound foolish. Enough on that.
A realistic idea of what the bike should bring is important to know so that the bike is not priced too high (commonly referred to as a pipe-dream) or too low as you could be losing money on the sale. So, check your newspapers and also check with a pricing service such as nada to get a good idea of the price range for your machine.
