So, where is a good place to list my used honda motorcycle to get good motorcycle sales results? Great question and it has many great answers. Many motorcycle sales originate from your local newspaper or Thrifty Nickel type of sales periodical and these papers can be very effective. Also, listing at your local credit union’s sales & bulletin board can be good for motorcycle sales and is totally free. Depends on how quick you want or need to sell your motorcycle. What has worked very well for me personally is eBay. It is a fairly inexpensive way to reach the biggest audience of people looking for a motorcycle like yours. It is a worldwide market but when it comes to selling a motorcycle or a large item like this, I recommend selling it only within the confines of the continental USA.
Also, there is a right and wrong time to sell your motorcycle. Spring and summer are the best times. It’s peak riding season. They really want your bike. They are anxious to ride. Fall and winter are the worst times. Keep this in mind when selling your motorcycle. If you don’t have to sell the bike in Fall or Winter and can wait until the following Spring, it will usually bring a considerable increase to the amount you get for your bike.
Regardless of where you elect to attempt to sell your machine, I suggest that HONESTY is the best policy. Do not lie about your bike, it could actually come back legally to haunt you. If you know the complete history of the bike (maintenance, etc), then answer the questions honestly and truthfully, again...the best policy. Do not overstate or understate. If you do not know the answer....tell the buyer that you don’t know the answer. It’s that simple.
Let me make another suggestion. If you know there is a safety flaw or problem with the bike that makes the motorcycle dangerous or potentially dangerous, then get the darn thing fixed. It you feel you don’t want or can’t spend the money, be sure to let the potential buyer know of the problem. Sure, you may lose some money on the price of the sale, but you will have been honest and you will be able to sleep at night and that is very important. If you know the bike basically has an “unfixable” problem, then either don’t sell the bike or sell it for what it is....a piece of junk or a salvage motorcycle. Sorry, sometimes the truth hurts.
For me folks, my reputation rides on everything I sell and everything I say. So I am careful in what I present and represent to people because I take pride in being honest. It’s a good policy to follow. I can say that without hesitation.
Good Luck on your Used Honda Motorcycle Sale. Hope this information has helped you to maximize your effort and get the most for your bike.
