2008 Suzuki 1500 Lehman Jackal Trike

by Harry Colerick
(Kingsport, TN. US of A)

I really enjoy riding my Jackal, with just a tad over 28,000 miles. The Suzuki/Lehman trike seems to handle quite well and I consider it quite safe. My gas mileage is in the low40's, local and 'nearby' riding.
I do have a starting problem that is a little aggravating. Seems like at leas once every outing when I attempt to start it, after the initial surge of the starter it is not turning over or running. If I continue to hold the button down because it is not running yet After 2 or 3 seconds (maybe 4) it will crank again and start running. Sometimes I just continue to 'bump' the button 3 or 4 times and it will crank (start ok). If anyone has any experience with this type of problem I and a couple of local dealers w/be most pleased to know so they c/fix the problem.
Have had the starter cleaned and checked. Tomorrow morning going to have the 'ok to start switch' that is activated by my left hand on the clutch handle checked, the starter switch checked for corrosion as well as the continuity checked on the wiring that is involved.
Anxious for information concerning the solution. Thanks &
Regards--
Harry Colerick

Hi Harry, I suspect the problem is easily solved but I have no clue. But you know the problem lies somewhere in the starter circuitry; perhaps the starter itself or one of the buttons..relays, etc. Thanks for your contribution
